“I have spied for you and lied for you, put myself in mortal danger for you. Everything was supposed to be to keep Lily Potter’s son safe. Now you tell me you have been raising him like a pig for slaughter – ”
“But this is touching, Severus,” said Dumbledore seriously. “Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?”
“For him?” shouted Snape. “Expecto Patronum!”
From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe. She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
“After all this time?”
”Always” said Snape.

Avada Kedavra’s a curse that needs a powerful bit of magic behind it - you could all get your wands out and point them at me and say the words, and I doubt I’d get so much as a nosebleed.
SO EFFIN TRUE, DUMBLEDORE, SO EFFIN TRUE!
I love this but I sort of disagree with it. Isn’t the bravery that Gryffindors have a kind of spontaneous, reckless bravery? By which I mean, they charge right into the situation. I’m sure Snape was more calculating in his bravery.
I agree. His had to plan things carefully. While a Gryffindor wouldn’t bother planning. They just do it because that is who they are.
I agree as well.
IMO Gryffindor and Slytherin share some very similar characteristics. Both are brave but gryffindors are more outright wave your wand and damn the consequences brave. They’re more gallant. Slytherins are calculating an cunning and will do anything to meet their ends. Snape was willing to double cross the darkest of Lords to gain retribution for his lost love, that makes him a true Slytherin.
